Your consultation
Your initial consultation with the Orthopaedic Specialist is to evaluate and provide treatment options for an orthopaedic condition. We allow approximately 15 minutes for each consultation. Usually the Specialist will require x-rays or other investigations to determine the cause of a problem or to evaluate your progress. If all the relevant information is not available at the time of your appointment, this may cause a delay in your treatment. In addition it may be necessary to repeat a study or request further investigations to complete your evaluation.
Please dress so that the body part that you will be discussing can be easily examined and/or X-rayed. For example, please wear shorts if you are attending for a knee problem.
We recognise that your time is valuable, and we make every effort to run our clinics on time. But occasionally emergencies or patients may require a little more time, and these cause scheduling delays beyond our control. We apologise if we keep you waiting. Please make allowances for unexpected delays when attending your appointment.
